Seeded by a drop,
I grew with the slightest sight of moisture,
Preserving droplets like it were a nectar of immortality.
As the originator of light gave me my undivided attention,
I was deserted by humans,
Protected by thorns.
I prick people who don't notice and hurt to make them notice.
I lay rooted in gravels of sand shifting from hither to thither,
Without a place of my own,
Rarely uprooted, never firmly rooted,
The rain to me a mirage,
And the desert, my own garage.
Heat is my unborn twin, with me to my end.
The only person who dawns on me is celestial,
The only beauty I've known is the moonlight.
I rarely witness life,
As I'm unfettered by the living,
While Independently living.
Deserted mostly on desert,
And averted by vision.
I am the Cactus,
The sole survivor for ages,
With a life that no one gauges.
